The pickups are sold with Black covers.
Single coil is made of Gray vulcanized fiber, Alnico V magnets and Plain Enamel American wire AWG42. Additionally glued and varnished. Glue eliminates the possibility of detaching the flatwork from the magnets, and the varnish adds additional structural strength and prevents electrical shorting wire on the magnets.
The pickups scatter wound using Plain Enamel copper wire.
Pickups potted in a mixture of paraffin and beeswax from bee farm of my grandfather.

Literally has made my bass blossom into something beautiful, the tone and color is out of this world. Blew away my old Seymour Duncan, I am actually amazed. Especially for the price, I can’t believe not a lot of players know about this company…

Previously I had already upgraded two Vintage Japanese J-Basses with Alexander’s pickups – with great success. This time I wanted to upgrade a No-Name Vintage P-Bass, probably late 60s from Moridaira. I hoped to get a sound near to the P-Bass of John Enwistle, “Live at Leeds”, 1970… 😉 To choose Alexander’s grey bobbin instead o the black one was kind of a blind guess, as Alexander has still no Youtube samples and could not really explain in words how the PUs would sound. He only said, the greys would have improved mids.
Well… Today I received the PUs and have build them in. Again it’s a tremendous upgrade! And of course, Entwistle sounds always special, but I came closer to his 1970s sound. 🙂
